1. Open your internet browser
2. Type Avast in the search box and click on the www.avast.com link
3. Click the Go To Download link
4. Click the Download box
5. Click the I’m ok with free antivirus link
6. When the file has downloaded an option to Run will appear, click on this
7. Click the Install button
8. Once installed click on the Restart Now button
9. Once restarted, an Avast icon will appear when you click on the icon tray up arrow
10. Click on the Avast icon to bring up the  Avast Dashboard, here you can see that your system is protected
